What the redesign changes for search
- The old page had 3 words of text and the title "Contact". This site has a title and description written for search results on every page, and enough plain text on the home page to say what Known does, what it costs and how it works.
- Search engines get the business details in the format they read directly: a professional service in Wallingford, Connecticut, its price and its email. The old page had none.
- An llms.txt file gives AI assistants a plain summary: what Known does, the price and terms, and how to ask for a preview.
- A sitemap, a robots.txt and a canonical address on every page tell search engines which pages exist and which address is the real one. The old page had none of these.
- Links shared by text or on social media show a preview image with the page's own title and description. The old page shared a bare link.
- On a phone the main content shows in 0.23 s instead of 0.72 s, with 17 requests instead of 40.

Google Business Profile
A profile set up as a service-area business, with the address hidden, puts Known on Google Maps for searches like "web designer near me" without listing a home address.
About an hour, then a few minutes a monthReviews from the first clients
A few short quotes from real owners, with their permission, would do more for trust than any check on this list. The checks can't measure it.

Notes
- This is my own assessment, made with automated checks. Passing them makes a site easier for Google and AI assistants to find and read; it doesn't guarantee rankings, traffic or customers.
- The 12 points this site misses are the phone, opening hours, social profiles and tap-to-call checks. They're written for shops and offices with a front door and a phone line. A one-person studio without either skips them on purpose; a deli or a dentist shouldn't.
- The old page was measured on 2026-09-25, before this site replaced it at known.xyz.
